Why do Hernias occur?

Hernia can occur due to strain which can increase the abdominal pressure such as

	Weight lifting
	Gaining weight
	Chronic cough
	Passing urine with great difficulty (enlarged prostate)
	Straining at stool due to constipation, piles, fissure, etc.
	Taking full and heavy meal
	Pregnancy
	Problems ocured due to operaton of stomach
	Defect in wall since birth

What to do when Hernia develops?

The right treatment of Hernia is Operative Repair. No medicine can cure Hernia.

In Hernia Surgery, a mesh made up of PROLENE is used to correct the defect. It requires to be fixed in the muscle so that no structure can come out of the defect.

Recently two layered mesh with a connector called PHS has been available which covers both sides of defect.
